Remi Russo is an emerging ceramic artist based in South-East London. In his practice, he explores isolated experiences and expresses them through surface textures and organic forms. His natural aesthetic is characterised by raw stoneware textures, referring to his work as vitrified artefacts that capture significant moments from his personal history. He has evolved his approach to fusing his latest collections as sculptural yet decorative homeware.
His formal background in ceramics started in 2012, taking Ceramic Design at a Bachelor's Degree and graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2021. Since then, he has developed his practice while residing and working in his grandmother's family home. After his graduation, he worked at Trinity Art Gallery, where his greatest achievement was establishing a new ceramic department, to empower and showcase emerging ceramic talents in the region. He also worked for London Potters as a publicity volunteer, where he was able to continue supporting emerging talents.
Currently, he volunteers for Dulwich Picture Gallery, while spending time on his ceramic practice.
